Happy Trails!
AAA selected The Red Horse Inn as one of the “Top 10 Destinations for Viewing Fall Foliage,” but springtime at The Red Horse Inn displays a myriad of colors against the backdrop of The Blue Ridge Mountains. The pinks of the redbud trees, yellow forsythia, white flowering dogwoods, the soft pink cherry blossoms, azaleas in lavender, red, white and purple, all festoon the property with pastels. The massive expanse of the Blue Ridge Mountain range leads the eye for miles in each direction. 20 miles to the east, Tryon Peak glistens in the eastern light of dawn or fades into soft pinks at dusk. Over 40 miles to the west, Table Rock shines like a sheer rock of gold at sunrise and at sunset, appearing as a cascading waterfall. Guests of The Red Horse Inn will be treated to a unique and intriguing springtime adventure. After visiting three centuries of covered bridges, guests can take a walk in the woods. A very special walk. Your spirits will be lifted and you will find yourself whistling while you walk... follow the sign of the titles of love songs. Your walk will lead you to two chairs that await your visit in a serene and solitary spot with outstanding mountain views. We suggest a picnic, perfectly planned for you to enjoy that special spot on the grounds, so that you can experience the splendor of spring with that special person in your life. If you’re not hungry for a picnic, we can arrange for cheese and crackers, along with a bottle of wine. The picnic is four assorted sandwiches of petite croissants, fresh baked cookies or brownies, healthy chips, bottled water or soda and a bottle of Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay or White Zinfandel. You choose your time for this wonderful adventure. Your private picnic (and/or your cheese and crackers with your bottle of wine) will be waiting for your arrival at your special place. Picnic is $40. Bottle of wine with cheese and crackers is $30. Telephone reservations are required! THE FUN LEGAL STUFF: This offer does not require accommodation reservations at The Red Horse Inn, but can be combined with accommodations. If you also choose to reserve accommodations here, our standard rates and policies apply. 2-night minimum accommodations are required on weekends. In either case, advance reservation for participation in the Happy Trails offer must occur by telephone only at (864) 895-4968 to reserve the specific day and time when you wish to experience your adventure.
